Ich bin seit ein paar Tagen stolzer Besitzer dieses Taschenmessers und muss sagen, dass es alle Erwartungen zu 100 Prozent erfüllt. Ich habe mit 6 Jahren mein erstes, kleines Taschenmesser von Vikctorinox von mein Onkel geschenkt bekommen, weil ich so begeistert von seinem "dicken Ding" war, seit dem Tag hatte ich durchgehend, bis zum heutigen Tag, ein Taschenmesser von Vikctorinox. Dieses Messer hat wirklich alles, was man im Alltag gut gebrauchen kann und es passt noch in die Hosentasche. Ich bin mega begeistert und kann es ohne wenn und aber empfehlen. Gruß Carsten.

Absolut empfehlenswert.

Having it on you = 70% chance of walking back to garage to get a real tool. Putting anything on keyring means extra annoyance cause it gets in the way. Can opener screwdriver is awful. Any screwdriver attachment is suited only for re-tightening of surface mounted screws not actual screw-driving. It's very heavy. Pliers useless 8/10 times = oversized tweezers. No phillips. Get a Climber instead + real tools. This is basically a movie prop. Honorable mentions: scissors, knife, file, bottle opener, tweezers.

I love this Swiss Army knife. It has all the tools I need for my edc. It is legal to carry in the uk.

No I’m very annoyed as I couldn’t get the delivery due to you unable to respond to email or phone calls for changing delivery instructions with dhl 
DHL couldn’t change it without you saying so. And you wouldn’t instruct dhl to change delivery

Wer vor allem auf Lupe und Kreuzschlitz verzichten kann hat hier eine sehr gute Alternative zum Swiss Champ. 

Es lässt sich auch in der Hosentasche noch gut tragen. Das Swiss Champ ist dort schon eher grenzwertig und besser am Gürtel zu tragen.

Die Kombination von Messer, Feile, Säge, Schere und Zange in einem Tool finde ich großartig. Ein echtes EDC. 

sowohl in rot als auch in schwarz sieht es toll aus. Am besten gefällt es mir in NAVY camouflage. Der Wechsel der Schalen ist mit wenig Geschick machbar.

Der kleine Bruder vom Swiss Champ

Ich habe ohne Frage ein gutes Produkt bekommen, leider ist es bei Victorinox 28€ teurer als bei Amazon. Das passiert, wenn man nicht mal bei Amazon die Preise vergleicht. Warum Amazon 28€ billiger ist, kann ich mir nicht erklären…..

I have had the handyman at least 8 years at this point(could be closer to 10, don't remember purchase date) and it has served every general need I've used it for. I don't put the knife through heavy abuse such as for work but more for quick everday tasks. I just keep regular maintenance (cleaning, oiling, sharpening). I don't beleive it's overly bulky and have carried in my front jeans pocket for years with other items. I did spill a little battery acid on it once and it tarnished the metal(to be expected) but had no effect on functionality at all. Always recommend!

Fantastic everday use!

Wie gewohnt ist auch diese Variante tadellos verarbeitet. Mit der Ausstattung kann einen auf Reisen auch nichts mehr überraschen. Einzig als EDC Messer für das tägliche Tragen in der Hosentasche ist es mit persönlich etwas zu schwer. Da bleibe ich lieber beim Tinker oder Spartan. Wer aber damit kein Problem hat für den Urlaub st das Messer top

Ah decision's decisions, was a toss up between the huntsman and the handyman,  it ticks all the boxes and is used at every opportunity, the only tool it’s missing is a posidrive screwdriver bit.

Since buying my first Swiss Army Knife at the age of 13, 47 years ago, I have never been without one, or more, I received my Handyman as a birthday gift over 25 years ago. I have just packed it up to send for the first service it has required in all that time (slight chip off one scale, point of small knife blade snapped off and I recently lost the scissors pivot screw) Not bad for a knife which has been worked hard for all those years.

A good knife of small size with light weight. It is a pity that the knife does not have a Philips screwdriver. This knife has almost everything I need. I don't like the corkscrew because it's too short. It is better to use a large Victorinox knife from the 130mm series for opening bottles such as "Wine Master"

Ce couteau m'a suivi pendant près de 25 ans et n'a presque pas d'usure de visible. Il est très pratique à prendre en main car il n'est pas trop épais. Après un dernier nettoyage intégral il fait maintenant partie de ma collection car malgré ce qu'il a vécu il est quasiment comme neuf. Un allié fidèle qui dépanne à coup sûr en cas de problème.

Excellente petite boîte à outils. Seul petit défaut à mon avis pour le bricoleur c’est le tire-bouchon qui devrait être remplacé par un tournevis cruciforme comme sur d’autres modèles tels que le Fielmaster et là il porterait parfaitement son nom le handyman.

After looking at the whole range very carefully I rejected the Champ and chose this Handyman. It has exactly the tools I need to do everything and is beautifully made when you get it. It’s quite chunky so a pouch is worthwhile. Recommended.

Das wohl am effizientesten zusammengestellte Taschenmesser, das als kleine Werkzeugkiste dient.

Wo das SwissChamp noch Werkzeuge für Outdoor enthält, die man im Alltag nicht zwingend braucht, wurden diese hier zugunsten Grösse und Gewicht weggelassen.

Leider wird das Craftsman nicht mehr angeboten, welches statt dem Korkenzieher einen Philipps-Schraubendreher hat (quasi das "Super Deluxe Tinker"). Deshalb ein * weniger.

Die Mini Werkzeugkiste schlechthin.

I was lusting after a thicker SAK but didn't want some of the behemoths which included tools I personally didn't have much use for. Then I saw this. It's a great alternative to the venerable Swiss Champ but without some of the less "everyday useful" tools, namely the magnifying glass and fish scaler (personal opinion). As such it is significantly slimmer and about 30g lighter. Too bad it features a corkscrew instead of a Phillips head driver like the now discontinued Craftsman, but is still a great tool.

Tolles Messer, konnte ich schon des öfteren brauchen um etwas zu schneiden oder mit der Zange Draht zurecht zu biegen.

Super Taschenmesser

I've had this knife for about a year now and it is my favorite everyday carry. The scissors are very sharp and the pliers are stronger than I thought. I have put significant pressure on them and they have not bent yet. The saw is also great, I was able to cut through 5" diameter tree branch that was unreachable with my hand held saw. For an everyday carry that has everything you need, this knife definitely fits the bill. Im ordering a second one to keep in my wife's car. Thank you for making great quality knives!

Fantastic everyday knife

I absolutely love this knife for casual carrying around the house. My main carry is a swisschamp. This model is the slimmer version of the swisschamp. It’s a little more pocketable without the extra layers which held the fish scaler, magnifying glass and inline philips screw driver. I prefer this model over the Deluxe Tinker because it has the file. My only big criticism is the lack of “Plus” scales.

Mi Handyman data de 1999 y desde el primer momento ha estado al nivel para hacer algunas reparaciones o de ayuda en tareas diarias.
En estos 18 años ha sufrido solo el desgaste por el uso (un par de caídas que me han obligado a reparar la cacha), pero esta en excelentes condiciones.

I bought the Handyman in 1999 and it is still going strong. Does what it says on the tin! Excellent knife and multitool. Things I use the most i) Small Blade ii) Scissors iii) Pliers. I used to use the corkscrew daily but alas most wine is now screw top.

I bought this one over the Swiss Champ as I don't need gimmicks such as magnifying glasses, fish thingies and so on. Its rather on the thick side but I love it! Not my everyday carry so far but I may change my mind :-)

Best functionality without useless items

Fue mi primera navaja. La tengo desde mediados del año 1996. Fue un regalo de mi hermano. Me ha salvado de innumerables problemas. Es el mejor tamaño para llevar diariamente.   Hoy en día ya no la uso,la tengo en mi colección de navajas. Me compré una igual para usar diariamente. Nunca salgo sin ella.

This wonderful knife I bought with my wife for a gift to me. We choose it together. It was about 7 years ago. Since then he has served me loyally. And I chose him out of the huge assortment of knives victorinox almost immediately and do not regret it. The only thing that slightly darkens the process of using it - is that it is quite thick, while I have a small palm. I do not always convenient to use.
This knife in my opinion, has almost all the necessary features to be always at the ready for any challenges that life puts in front of you.

I'm probably a little different from your average user in that I bought my Handyman when I was 16, in 1977, so that was 38 years ago. In fact, the Handyman listed here is the nearest equivalent. In that time it hasn't rusted, broken, or seized up in any way, the only thing that's gone is one of the springs for the scissors, and the knife blades are still sharp. The scissors are still some of the best I've got, ditto the file and the woodsaw). What's more, you can easily get spares for it (springs for the scissors). Pretty good going Victorinox!

Long term product test...

Offert par mon père à lors de mes 8 ans (j'en ai aujourd'hui 25), ce couteau m'a suivi et me suit encore aujourd'hui partout. Rien ne lui a été épargné : bois, nourriture, céramique, il a même servi de marteau et il est toujours fonctionnel.

Extremely elegant knife, swiss army is always a well crafted brand. I purchased the handyman version for my father, for Christmas. we both admire the gloss and shine to it, but when we looked closely you could see a bunch of scratch marks and a chip in the coating. Other then it being looked like it was used i would recommended this item if you are the working man who forgets his tools and needs a back up

Perfect but disappointed

This is a great day to day knife to have. I don't think that there is anything you can't do with this knife. It is very good when you go camping or hiking. The saw came in very handy to cut wood for a fire, but it would be good if there was a magnifying glass to start fires with it. This knife also made it very easy to open cans and bottles efficiently. Overall this is a great knife to do small jobs. I would recommend this knife because it has so many uses to it. It is at a very good price point.

amazing and handy little knife

I bought my Handyman a year and a half ago and have used it religiously everyday since! I have yet to find a situation that my Handyman and I couldn't overcome. I have used it to fix my e-cig (making new coils), get better leverage on a rusted wing nut so I could use an umbrella at the beach, spliced wires in an emergency vehicle to keep it operational (and consequently keep from being out of service at the Garage for hours); that's just a few of the uses I've put it through. I have been highly impressed with the performance and have now ordered a Swiss Champ and I plan to keep this one in my tool box as my go to and also as a hand-me-down for my son. The only complaint I have is the plastic on the knife. I remember having a Swiss Army knife my grandfather gave me (long since lost on a hiking trip) and it seemed the plastic was harder. I dropped this knife around two weeks after I received it onto a tiled countertops (around 2-3 foot as I was working on something at eye level) and the plastic broke. Worst part is I had it personalized so I didn't bother sending it back in to have it fixed (gives it character anyway). Other than that I couldn't ask for a better knife!!!

Perfect Knife for any Situation

The Handyman is my fourth Swiss Army Knife. I bought it just because it's multi-function. When it arrived, I was surprised because I found it is very small. Pliers is very powerful, with a hacksaw and a screwdriver, I can open almost anything. And I'm having an outdoor activity soon, I hope my Handyman can be used.

The functionality is superior to any other knife / multitool I have owned. The blades sharpen easily and hold a razor edge for a long time.

Throughout my life I have used various types of utility knives, to include many Victorinox knives. I purchased the Handyman primarily because I saw it being sold for a great price, but I quickly learned that it was worth way more than I paid. The variety of tools cover all the basic needs I have for camping, hiking, or just fixing things around the house. The size of the Handyman is just right and feels pretty comfortable in my hand. The only thing I would change is replacing the corkscrew with a magnifying glass. I also did not buy a sheath with the knife, but I will soon in order to keep the knife looking new. Awesome utility knife!

This is the first Victorinox product i ever had and has almost all functions i need and its still not too thick, so it fits in my hand nicely, but due to the amount of tools the grip is not so good and i still need to get used to it.
I say almost perfect because i really miss the phillips screwdriver and cannot find an optional version where the corkscrew is replaced by the screwdriver.
the tip of the can opener can be used as one, but not in the case if the screw is deep in a hole, so i still need to open my old toolbox sometimes.
The most used tool in my case on this knife are the pliers and they are really great for many jobs, not heavy duty of course, but its always good to have small pliers handy.
The chisel is one of the main features that made me decide for this product, it was very handy when i needed small changes in the fit of new furniture and modelling from balsa wood.
i use this knife everywhere: in my car, around the house, at work and for my modelling hobbies, but for going outdoors for camping or hiking i am planing to buy the "Hiker" knife.
I use the hook to untie very tight knots (cables, rope, plastic bags and paracords) so its a nice addiction to this product.
When i compare this handyman knife to any other multitools/penknives that i had, this is the best and really is miles ahead with the quality, durability and functionality.

Almost perfect

I am a first time user of the Victorinox, i had a lot of multitools and pen knifes it was well worth it to throw them all away and spend a bit more to buy this one.
I should go with this brand from the start as i spend much money on cheap asian made stuff that let me down too many times and spend so much on them that i could already have a collection of Victorinox stuff.
This tool has my full trust and didn't let me down and it won't i believe.
its exactly what i needed a tool for a handyman, but i miss the phillips screwdriver a lot, i never ever used a corkscrew and its useless for people like me, please make one with a phillips instead, i would buy it straight away.
Many of my friends said that its the most useless tool the corkscrew and they didn't buy a Victorinox just because its on most models and those without are hard to get.
Anyway i am so happy with it, i cannot be without it,

Please make it with a phillips screwdriver

I use it at the first opportunity, when do not have any tools. Once even shaved this knife. Because I was far away from civilization, and do not want look like a savage. Not every razor shaves so clean! Very sharpness blade! I absolutely love it! You make excellent knives simply, thank you for this!

High quality knife. The best of all i have before!

We ordered these for gifts and they are really a great tool. Beautiful, well built and tons of "things" inside. My only complaint is getting the "things" out. As a female I struggled but even some of the guys I asked had trouble. There may be too many "things" because you can't get a hold of them. But I think they will be well liked by their recipients.

Ich besitze seit vielen Jahren ein "Handyman" und es hat mit mir bereits viele Kontinente und Länder gesehen. Dieses Messer ist für mich die ideale Kombination aus Vielseitigkeit und Handlichkeit, gepaart mit Langlebigkeit und sehr guter Verarbeitung. Selbst nach einem mehrmonatigen, harten Einsatz ist es nach einem Bad in Seifenlauge, der Behandlung mit entsprechendem Öl und einer kleinen Politur der Griffschalen fast wie neu.
Ausschlaggebend für den Kauf war für mich die Kombination aus Säge, Schere, Feile und vor allem der Zange, bei noch handlichen Abmessungen.
Mit diesen Werkzeugen, in Verbindung mit den anderen "Standard"-Tools, wird ein Werkzeugkasten beinahe überflüssig. Die Zange ist für die Größe über jeden Zweifel erhaben und die Kraft ist gut dosierbar, die Schere ist sehr schnitthaltig und auch bei dickem Karton oder Kunststoff nicht überfordert. Die Säge ist sehr scharf und gut geeignet, kleine-mittlere Äste (bis ca. 5-6cm) für das Lagerfeuer zu zerkleinern. Das einzige Tool, welches bislang kaum zum Einsatz kam, war der Schaber/ Holzmeissel.
Die Breite (27mm) ist noch gerade hosentaschentauglich, was für mich der Grund war, dem Handyman den Vorzug vor dem SwissChamp zu geben. Bei der Mitführung auf Touren landet es allerdings meist am Gürtel (Tasche 40521.3). Das Gewicht von 157gr geht angesichts der Vielfalt auch noch gerade in Ordnung, mehr sollte es aber auch nicht sein. Das ideale Tourenmesser.
Schön wäre es, wenn Victorinox dem Handyman noch einen kleinen Schraubendreher für den Korkenzieher von Werk aus spendieren würde (habe ich nachgerüstet) und die Auswahl der Schalenfarben/ -materialien generell erweitern würde, sowie zusätzlich einen kleinen Kugelschreiber in die Schale integrieren würde, ohne dass Pinzette oder Zahnstocher wegfallen würden.
Für den täglichen Einsatz ist mir das Messer zu groß, die vielen Funktionen benötige ich im harten Büroalltag eher selten, aber dafür ist es ja auch nicht gedacht...da kommt ein Classic Manager am Schlüsselbund zum Zuge.

The best choice

My original Swiss Army knife was won as a bet when I was doing a school exchange visit to Austria. It served me well for many years until on eof the pins holding the knife together gave way. As the guarantee was for a Lifetime I took it in fo repair. But the model was no longer available so I was provided with a higher specification model the Handyman. That was way back in the late 70's.

Ever since then I have been using my Handy man regularly. Th epliers are useful when doing odd jobs around the house, the knife (which is ultra sharp and you have to take care not to cut yourself) is used for opening packaging mainly. The saw is ideal sometimes for small jobs and rips through timber.

I took the Handyman with me on a family round the world trip in 2004. Ity was ideal for peeling oranges, slicing loaves of bread to make ploughman type lunches, cutting and filing nails, opening bottles of wine and tin cans. Basically a lifesaver. Unfortunately, I left it in my backpack after a walk in New Zealand and although it was missed by the first airport xray machine the operator at the second spotted it and it was confiscated. I was mortified no amount of talking would persuade security to let me take it on board the flight in my hand baggage. BUT I asked if it could be reclaimed or posted. I was told it could be reclaimed in person back in town. I was leaving NZ but fortunately our host (a relation) collected it and a year later when another family member was in NZ on a visit it came back with them (in hold luggage) and I was reunited with my Swiss Army knife. Awesome.

As a memento of my teenage years and on, it is a real keepsake and reminds me of so many trips, picnics etc. And if it is not lost my son is looking forward to taking it over as a family heirloom! I hope that the Lifetime guarantee continues to be honoured as one day it may need servicing but at the moment it is still in excellent working and showroom condition. What more can I say? Recibí esta navaja como un regalo de mi madre cuando me fui a estudiar la universidad. Tomando en cuenta que estudié agronomía mi madre consideró que sería un excelente regalo, si lo fue. Esta navaja me ha acompañado desde la universidad donde siempre me saco de apuros especialmente en aquellos momentos que menos lo imaginé. Gracias a esta navaja siempre pude dar soluciones prácticas a problemas inesperados en mi trabajo. Como hombre soltero ha sido la única herramienta que he necesitado en la casa. La única herramienta que considero le hace falta es el desatornillador phillips, y es esa la única razón por la que pronto estaré adquiriendo un nuevo modelo que se adapte a mis nuevas necesidades profesionales.

Un compañero de muchos años

I got the HANDYMAN as a gift from my mom when I was going to college. Since I studied agronomy my mom thought it would make a wonderful gift. Guess what? It did! It took me trough college and help me many times in agriculture related activities most of the time in those situations I wasn't expecting or ready for. For all the time that I stayed single it was the only tool I needed for lots of activities at home. The only thing I think it's missing and maybe helpful for the single agronomy guy is the Phillips screwdriver, since is the only tool I have needed that isn't there. I have had it for 10 years now and really recommend it.

Long time friend

I got the Climber and it was very good but I lost it on a camp. I received this knife for christmas and I have found it much more useful only within a week of having it. A great product.
