This is one of my favourite EDC's, Its always on me. It has come in handy for everyday use. I have used all the functions of this tool practically every day. I love it. I won't leave home without it.  Great for urban use as well as my camping and hiking adventures. I love it.

Für mich ideale Auswahl an Tools. Ich spiele Gitarre und muss daher meine Fingernägel rechts etwas länger stehen lassen. Schere und Feile sind da ein idealer Begleiter! Die Schere schneidet perfekt nahezu alles vom einfachen Faden bis zu Paracord. Ich habe sogar versuchsweise einen Sicherheitsgurt damit durchschneiden können. Auch die restlichen Werkzeuge sind immer wieder nützlich.

Ideale Tools Zusammenstellung

Gutes Produkt, universell einsetzbar. Es ist alles dran, was man für kleinere Einsätze technischer natur braucht. Wenn ich es nicht bei mir habe, fehlt mir etwas.

bin zufrieden

Ich mag dieses Taschenmesser sehr, da es genug, aber auch nicht zu viele Tools hat. Es ist nicht zu dick und liegt deshalb gut in der Hand. Das Gewicht ist ok und man kann es deshalb gut mitnehmen. Ich habe mir noch den kleinen Schraubendreher und die Stecknadel dazu gekauft. Zusammen mit diesen Funktionen ist der Ranger unschlagbar.

Gutes Taschenmesser

Hab für mein Ranger noch zusätzlich die Plus Schalen gekauft, Kugelschreiber, Fire Ant, Mini Schraubendreher (Brille) für an den Korkenzieher und die Nadel. Somit ist es für mich das absolut perfekte Taschenmesser. Die Anzahl an Tools ist einfach fantastisch!Ich wollte ein Messer mit einer Feile dran, Säge und natürlich mit der Schere. Ich finde es liegt wunderbar in der Hand und das Gewicht ist auch noch trotz 5 Lagen absolut Hosentaschen tauglich. Ich geh ohne den Ranger nicht aus dem Haus, habe es stehts überall und immer dabei. Es war schon oft Retter in der Not und in meinen Augen ein treuer Begleiter durchs Leben und alles was noch kommen mag. Habt Ihr gut gemacht, Team von Victorinox. Ich liebe es :-)

Treuer und täglicher Begleiter

Ich bin seit vielen Jahren zufrieden mit Ihren Messern. Mein erstes Messer ist etwa 40 Jahre alt und ich benutze es täglich. Leider habe ich noch keine Rechnung für meine Bestellung bekommen (Ranger).

Normalerweise habe ich meinen Huntsman oder Forrester (im Wald) dabei. Wenn ich ganz sicher gehen will, kommt der Ranger mit, weil doch noch zwei Tools dabei sind, die für die Holzbearbeitung praktisch sind. Braucht man aber eigentlich nur, wenn‘s schon Richting Bushcraft geht. Was wirklich klasse ist: Die zusätzliche Metallfeile/-säge. 
Alles in allem also ein tolles, umfassendes Werkzeug in der gewohnten Schweizer Qualität. Dafür etwas schwerer/breiter und mit ganz schön stattlichem Preisschild. 
Alles was größer ist, wird für mich etwas lächerlich— und dieses hier hat alles, was man jemals wirklich brauchen wird. Reicht das nicht aus, bist Du sowieso verratzt;-)

Listo con lo basico y efectivo

I just bought it and I am very satisfied for the short amount of time I have used it. This really has the best compromise between compact size and features. All layers are used, no space is wasted, which is rare for such a compact design. 
Only a small observation: the key ring attachment point gets in the way when trying to use the hook. Maybe the hook notch could be a little bit bigger to allow for an easier pull, or the key ring to be placed on the opposite end (the same side and layer), because there are no tools there on that end/side.
Other than that, it really is a brilliant piece of Swiss engineering! I will return with an update review after 1 year of usage. Thank you!

One of the greatest

Mein Ranger ist jetzt 14 geworden und immer noch voll einsatzfähig. Wobei ich ihn mitnichten nur im Wald empfehlen würde. Im Serverraum hat er mich schon mehr als einmal gerettet. Die Schere macht selbst vor Kabelbindern nicht halt und der kleine Schraubenzieher passt perfekt für die angeblich werkzeuglos zu montierenden Netzteile. Eingerissene Fingernägel sind dank Nagelfreile auch kein Problem und die Klingen haben schon unzählbare Pakete und Briefe geöffnet oder Obst zerlegt.
Bis auf den Holzmeissel war so ziemlich jedes Werkzeug schon im Einsatz (und für den finde ich garantiert auch noch was). Selbst Reparaturen am Auto habe ich damit schon durchgeführt. Für mich ist der Ranger das optimale Taschenmesser, am Huntsman/Fieldmaster fehlt mir die Feile und die zusätzliche Zange am Handyman benötige ich nicht, der Ranger passt genau.
Das Einzige was ich diesem Messer noch hinzufügen würde, wäre eine Layer mit Inline Philipps. Das würde das Messer zum absoluten Ersatz für alles machen. Vielleicht noch als Hinweis, die Metallsäge ist nicht unbedingt in der selben Liga wie die Holzsäge, aber sie funktioniert.
Für mich eine klare Empfehlung!

Es perfecta. Tengo una colección de 12 navajas Victorinox y definitivamente esta es mi favorita, con ella puedo cortar TODO:

- cuerdas,

- madera, 
- ramas de árboles, 
- y claro ¡METAL!. La lima con sierra de metal es perfecta.

Definitivamente es con la que mejor me siento cuando la traigo conmigo, incluso en ambientes de campamento o urbanos, aún es compacta para llevarse en el bolsillo. Sinceramente espero que NUNCA DESCATALOGUEN ESTE MODELO, ES EL MEJOR. Además que es de las pocas que TIENEN TODAS LA HERRAMIENTAS TRASERAS, ¡TODAS!.

Must Victorinox RANGER

Many many years this is my backpack knife that solves many tasks at work, village and outdoor. Every tool are used and makes its jobs well.

Very usefull tool in most cases

La compré hace bastantes años y estoy muy contento con ella, es de las mejores en su categoría ya que tiene una amplia gama de herramientas, las indispensables de la marca, todas muy útiles y ninguna de sobra, por lo que es muy cómoda al portarla... Tenía dudas sobre la sierra de metal, si bien no corta un barrote, si puede cortar alambres de distinto grueso reemplazando la función de un alicate. Los desatornilladores del abrelatas y de la parte trasera se doblan si haces demasiada fuerza, lo cual es en parte bueno porque sabes cuando estás en su límite y no se rompen de golpe, lo que sería peor... Solo le hace falta un robusto desatornillador Phillips para ser perfecta, yo lo escogería por encima del gancho, que poca utilidad me ha dado... Todo lo demás lo he utilizado incluso más de lo que pensaba... Excelente herramienta!!!

El mejor pack de herramientas

The only thing that could functionally improve this knife without making it fatter is a Philips screwdriver instead of the silly corkscrew. (Victorinox actually cancelled the version with Philips screwdriver - Master Craftsman) All the long tools of this knife are top notch. The backside short ones are dubious in their utility (especially chisel) but I don't care because I bought it for the long tools. I made slingshots for my children using nothing but this knife. Scissors to cut rubber bands and some leather pouches, saw to get suitable branches, knife to strip the bark, file to make handles smoother, awl to poke holes. I am a real life MacGyver to my children now. 

However, I am giving it only 4 stars due to the material of (handle)scales. EVERYTHING scratches it. Paper, grass, wood, empty pockets. It will get scratched and look rubbish no matter how many precautions you take. There is no excuse for that.

Das Taschenmesser zeichnet sich durch eine Vielfalt von Funktionen aus und ist dabei noch handlich und liegt gut in der Hand. Es lässt sich auch problemlos in der Hosentasche tragen und eignet sich somit auch dafür, um es jeden Tag dabei zu haben. Durch die verschiedenen Funktionen ist es auch Ideal zum Reisen geeignet, da man fast alles was benötigt dabei hat. 
Die Qualität ist wie von Victorinox gewohnt spitze und verrichtet auch noch nach über 10 Jahren im Besitz seine Arbeit. Je nach Gebrauch muss das Messer allerdings in Folge natürlicher Abnützung nachgeschliffen werden.

Para mi es la navaja ideal para llevar a todos los lugares ya que tiene un conjunto de herramientas muy utiles ya sea en ciudad o el campo y tiene un tamaño adecuado.la llevo a diario.

O meu primeiro Victorinox foi um Ranger (ou igual a frente dele) em 1973, em 1986 ele foi para a coleção. Foram 13 anos de uso constante, porém ele ainda é novo. Este ano ganhei de presente da minha esposa um igual ao da foto. Fiquei impressionado, pois é um daqueles que não tem espaço vazio em nenhuma camada. Tanto na parte da frente como na parte de trás ele é completo. Só conheço três canivetes com essa característica que são: Waiter, Spartan e o mais completo o Ranger. Todos os outros acabam deixando algum  espaço vazio. Mas o Ranger é espetacular.

Parfait compagnon de tous les jours à la ville comme à la campagne vu ses instruments. Tiens bien dans une poche de pantalon sans être trop volumineux. On ne s'en sépare plus !

Au quotidien

In the larger range of SAKs there seems to be an ideal ratio of thickness to width (ie layers thick vs width of the knife scales), with 4 layers being around that ideal. However, for the additional tools offered, the Ranger still handles very well. 
It's probably the largest of the smaller knives, or the smallest of the larger knives, in both size and price. 

As always, there is never a perfect SAK for most people and having certain tools usually means sacrificing others or accepting additional ones that you'll likely never use. In some cases, it means getting one that is massively thick with way too many layers. The Ranger is pretty well packed, with some seemingly odd choices initially but ones that do make sense later on, in a package that, while over the ideal ratio, is still close enough to be a little pocket buddy. 
It's nice to see the wood and metal saws together, along with a few other wood-centric tools like the chisel. Unfortunately, the large blade is quite far from the bottle opener, so the wirestripper trick is not as effective. 
Overall very comfortable to use, but pushing the absolute limit on pocket size for most people and might be a touch heavy for some. If you'll only carry one SAK to do everything, this is definitely one to consider.

A decent array of tools for every day carry

Immernoch der beste Klassiker. Falls man jemandem, der noch keines besitzt, ein original Taschenmesser schenken will ist dieses die beste Wahl.
Nicht zu groß und nicht zu klein. Verfügt genau über die benötigten Werkzeuge für den Alltag.

Ayant longtemps utilisé un couteau suisse comme scout, j'ai retrouvé celui-ci il y a peu. J'utilisais récemment un multi-tool, mais je me trouvais parfois face des situations où il me manquait un outil. Mon Ranger est le complément parfait et je suis maintenant prêt à gérer toutes les situations du quotidien !

Parfait compagnon !

J'ai acheté ce couteau en vacances en Lozère en 2011. Il me sert tous les jours pour bricoler, réparer, cuisiner. Un jour en tombant un côté ces cassés, je revient où je l'ai acheté et mon me l'échange sans justificatif, c'est ce qu'on peut appeler un service client au top. Les outils sont de super qualité, ils ne font pas défauts. Ils n'y  a pas de fioritures que de l'utile. Un couteau a amener tous les jours dans toutes les situations. Au top aucun défaut je reste chez Victorinox.

Great knife - buy it!

I was given this as a gift just over 30 years ago. Its always to hand at home, and I'll often use it rather than dedicated tools, and it usually performs as well, if not better than a tool specific to the task. The wood and metal saws still work very well after all these years. 

Mine has the Camping emblem on it, I'm pleased it's still available with this on it, as I bought one for my son for his 18th birthday this year and he was thrilled. 

It's a good compromise of functionality and portability.

Everything is great except the hook is a little hard to open and a little slippery

My Huntsman opened it's last bottle of wine and the Cellidor handle that *wasn't* fractured finally gave way and is unable to hold the tweezers any longer. I replaced the 30 year old tool with this device.

I sacrificed the relative thinness of the Huntsman with this unit's single extra layer having a metal file and saw, and this appears to be a very reasonable tradeoff. The grip of the tool is still reasonable, not too big, and well suited for sawing both hard and soft materials for more rigorous jobs. After the hundreds of prior wood sawing procedures I performed with the prior Huntsman, I suspect this knife will work just as well with both wood and thin metal targets.

The knife is thick enough to cause use of the sharper blades to be minimally clumsy, especially the blades and tools significantly off center. The scissors is mildly unwieldy also. However, careful application will generally remedy most usage issues.

I recommend this device for those who are looking for a number of useful tools, in an easily manageable container, for use on a variety of materials. This device functions well and avoids you from carrying around something that weighs far too much for what it does and the jobs it can perform. If you are considering purchasing this knife, a Huntsman, or another 3-5 layer device, this unit is an excellent choice. Now that I have a tool having a metal file and saw, I will never return to a *slightly* smaller device without one.

Excellent replacement for my 30 year old Huntsman

I got this knife for Christmas a couple of years ago and have been very impressed. It has a large amount of tools while staying small enough to easily fit in a pocket or side pocket in a rucksack I am never without it on while camping and EDC (every day carry) it frequently.
The blade stays very sharp; I only need to sharpen it every few months or so. I have it by my bedside every night it coming in very handy (the scissors and nail file especially).
A knife with excellent features and well worth the price.

Brilliant knife with perfect amount of features

sin duda alguna es la navaja que tiene las herramientas necesarias que verdaderamente se utilizan con las dimensiones y características adecuadas para que no estorbe al llevarla pero con el tamaño necesario y suficiente para sujetarla mientras se trabaja con ella, es un producto muy bueno lujoso y duradero de la mas alca calidad y confiabilidad para mi es extraño que no sea de las mas comunes es mi favorita.

The Angler doesn't have sizzors, and the Fisherman doesn't have a wood saw (for making a forked stick to hold rod from the bank). I wish my Ranger had a hook remover instead of a file; but, there is a metal saw on the edge of the file. Once, at work, my department had to open a VIP gate for some "suits" who would be arriving within minutes. But, the gate was chained, and no one knew the combination to the padlock! The metal file/saw quickly sawed through a link of the small-gauge chain. Still, when fishing, I'd rather have the hook remover. But, the file can be handy if you re-sharpen used hooks. I use the sizzors the most to trim excess line from my knots. I've even used my Ranger to work on fishing reels when at the Lake. It usually has what I need (the can opener fits phillips screws). Get 'glow" handles if you fish before dawn. And, a pouch if 5 layers seems thick in your pocket.

The Best for Fishing

The "Ranger" combines all the useful blades and flat tools, and nothing more, which makes it truly a pocket knife.
Screwdrivers and pliers belong to a different travel kit which can be carried in a backpack or shoulder bag.
In the past I have purchased different models, but the Ranger is my favorite.

The most compact combination of features

My first SAK was the Super Tinker, and after decades of use it's still in perfect condition. But it's been replaced by the Ranger. With five rows of tools--three on the Super Tinker--the Ranger offers the versatility to tackle more projects or jobs yet is small enough to carry in the watch pocket of my jeans--I know it's there, yet I can still move freely, and dedicate my larger pocket for my cell phone. No matter what I'm doing or where I go my Ranger is in my pocket , leather belt holster, or backpack. Victorinox offers so many good pocket knives, but for this retired federal park ranger, the Ranger is top choice.

Total Package

The Ranger Swiss army knife is great! The main blade is very sharp. I like the multi purpose hook is very useful. I love the chisel because its good for trimming down plywood. Overall the knife is wonderful and I cannot wait until i go camping.

Awesome Knife!

Es la navaja que sirve para todo en todos lados y es perfecta para todo aquel que disfrute tanto de su vida casual como de cualquier oportunidad de interactuar con la naturaleza. También cabe mencionar que esta es la clase de navaja que debe conservarse de por vida, no como herramienta, pero si como una fiel acompañante que cada vez que la veas recordaras todas las aventuras que viviste con ella.

I have been using this knife for just over 5 years and I have never felt that it was necessary to upgrade or buy a different knife(I only bought another one because I love victorinox products so much!). The functionality is fantastic and the compactness of it all makes it a hard to beat product!

What a great product!

I wanted a versatile tool for outdoor activities and I believe that this piece of equipment will do any job you set out for it. So far I have never had the need of any other tool, be it fishing, camping or even at home. all blades/ tools are of very good quality as always when talking about Victorinox products. This tool gets a 10/10 in my opinion.

Brilliant tool

This pocket knife is very good because it had a lot of possibility. Very sharp and it can cut almost everything. I think Victorinox is the best on the market by knifes.

I've been carrying a Camper in my pocket for the last 26 years, and finally decided to retire it. I was looking for a knife with a little more features and so narrowed my search between the Ranger, the Huntsman and the Handyman. For the price and the number of features, I eventually settled on this. Being used to a 3 layer knife, I was a little worried that this would be too bulky, but surprisingly it wasn't. This is the perfect combination of tools and size for my everyday needs!

Perfect!

I have had this product for 3 years now an it has never let me down. i have had to sharpen the blade only once and it is a pleasure to use. My only regret is that i didn't by it earlier!!!!

Brilliant product with great prices!

This knife has got all the tools necessary for camping and everyday use.
It doesn't have too many tools and is fat like the swisschamps and it doesn't have too little things like sportsman, tinker and other knifes in that category. It is not to thick and not too thin. Finally it has a good price to function ratio.

Como aficionado al campig, se ha convertido en mi mejor aliada ya que siempre me acompaña incluso en mi vida cotidiana, un excelente filo y gran funcionalidad, con esta pequeña herramienta se puede hacer de todo.... sin duda alguna una gran adquisicion muy recomendable...
