I think this is the best small Swiss Army Knife that Victorinox has made to date, it's just got everything you need in a really small form factor and at a really good price. I brought the first for a present for my grandson, and liked it so much I brought one for myself.

I can't sing the Manager's praises too loudly.  What a useful multitool, packing quite a punch for its size.  It's in my pocket every day and gets used every day.  The retractable pen is the icing on the cake.  Writes and handles well and I never have to go looking for a pen in a pinch.

The Perfect Small Victorinox

As the title says, this knife has all the useful tools from 58mm range without any nonsense like "cuticle pusher" or "orange peeler" that only make the knife thicker and don't see any use. 


This is an excellent companion for any parent on the go. You can fix children's broken nails, cut off hangnails, unscrew battery covers on toys, easily slice through plastic toy packaging, pull out splinters, write notes on kids' foreheads. 


The disadvantage of this size is that the main blade is too small to be of any use beyond opening packages/cutting tape. 


That philips screwdriver is a real joy to use. To me, it's easily the most useful tool on this knife. 


Lastly, I don't care how long a tradition those plastic scales have, that material is plain rubbish. You can scratch those (handle)scales just by looking at them for too long. It took my knife 5 minutes to start looking like family heirloom handed down through 3 generations. Wood scratches it, other plastic scratches it, empty soft pocket scratches it, even the folded paper manual and box it comes in scratches it! I wouldn't expect this from a 5 euro chinese knockoff. That's why it only gets 4 stars.

I bought two of these Manager keyring penknives as Christmas gifts because I have had a smaller version as well as a Swiss Army card for years and I think they are very handy!

Neat design and excellent quality

Wird ein Weihnachtsgeschenk, allerdings kam mir bei der Begutachtung der Gedanke, dass ich dafür auch gut Verwendung finden würde. 
Der große Bruder ist einer meiner ständigen Begleiter, aber trotzdem kommt es vor, dass das praktische Tool am Schlüsselanhänger halt auch dabei ist- wenn der große Bruder aus Platzmangel in Hosentasche o. ä. daheim bleibt.

Der Versand und Zusendung erfolgte hervorragend. 

Leider habe ich nach der Entnahme des Messers Kratzer und Macken auf der blauen Schale feststellen müssen. 

Da mir eine Retoure zu umständlich erschien, habe ich das Messer behalten. 

Bei dem vergleichsweise hohen Preis für ein solch kleines Messer sind diese Fehler für mich unverständlich. Ich habe hier ein qualitativ bzw. optisch besseres Produkt erwartet. 

Technisch ist der Zustand tadellos.

Optische Fehler auf der Schale

I've had Ramblers for more than 20 years, and always have one on me. I though the addition of a Pen was a good idea and ordered one based on the 11 functions listed. Unfortunately when it came it only has 10 functions and a loose toothpick. It may as well say 20 functions and ship the other 10 as loose items! What's really annoying is I tred to make contact numerous times before I purchased to clarify this and there was no reply to emails or phone messages.  Dont get me wrong it's still a good product, but not what I ordered. 
If they made one of these with a toothpick, light and pin all fitted it would be perfect

Having not left the house without a Victorinox  classic on my key ring for as long as I can remember, this little knife is an excellent upgrade without going bigger! 

One thing to note.. the wire stripper is almost completely useless, which is a shame because that was a big attraction for me when purchasing, and it could be easily improved by giving it a sharp edge.

I would say the review summary title says it best: I use my Victorinox Manager every day. I carry it in that little coin pocket on my jeans. There is always at least one challenge daily that requires something as simple as a loose screw, something that needs cutting with either a blade or scissors, or perhaps I need a pen to write quickly write something down. Without the Manager, these little tasks would take way too much time to approach as I look for the right tool. Instead, with the Manager, it's only a matter of a few seconds, and my task it done. And of course, the product quality is excellent.

The Rambler/Manager/Midnite Manager series are my favorite small-size SAKs. They combine all the essential tools for basic cutting, grooming, and screwdriver capabilities without the added bulk and (to me) limited extra utility of the minichamp. The addition of the philips/bottle opener over the "Base model" Classic/Signature/Signature Lite series is a hugely useful addition. The key addition of the manager over the rambler is replacing the toothpick with a ballpoint pen, which is extremely useful to me and has come in handy on more than one occasion. Probably not comfortable enough to write with to be your main pen, but good enough to quickly write down a phone number or similar in a pinch. I recommend keeping the tweezers over the thicker and (to me) limited-usefulness LED flashlight in the Midnite model.

Awesome little tool

The manager is the perfect collection of tools to fit on your keychain. Versatile but small enough that you forget it’s there- until you need it. I’ve used every tool many times. The pen is great. The midnite manager is great as well with an impressive and useful led light, but I always have the light on my phone, and the tweezers make quick work of splinters, so I went for the Manager. If you want a pocket toolbox that has most of the tools you could need everyday and nothing you don’t, the Manager is a great choice.

Victorinox Manager ist ein kleines Taschenmesser, dass für den Anzug, Jeans, Schlüsselbund, in verschiedene Taschen, Handtaschen, unterwegs, am Arbeitsplatz oder auch als kleine sinnvolle Ergänzung zu einem größeren Victorinox Messer das die angebrachten Tools, um nur den integrierten Kugelschreiber, den kleinen Phillips-Schraubendreher und die Nagelfeile zu benennen nicht enthält.

Diese kleine Messer bietet absolut alles, was ich täglich benötige. Insbesondere die Schere und den magnetischen Kreuzschlitzschraubendreher (aufgrund der besonderen Form kann man damit kleine und große Schraubenköpfe drehen, selbst Pozidrive geht oftmals) benutze ich fast täglich. Aufgrund der kompakten Bauform trage ich es in der kleinen Five-Pocket-Hosentasche. Sensationell!

Bestes EDC für meinen Bedarf

Par expérience, les outils que j'utilise le plus sont : les ciseaux, la pince à épiler, la lime à ongles et le décapsuleur. Les voici réunis dans un format miniature. Les stylo à bille et les deux tournevis dépanneront le cas échéant. Ce ensemble est vraiment miniature et tient au fond du porte-feuille ou sert de porte-clefs. Ajoutons un couteau, une loupiote  de bonne autonomie et un briquet : nous voici avec un outillage urbain à peu près complet.

Une amélioration possible : en général, quand on a ça dans le porte-feuilles, on a aussi un couteau "normal" dans la poche. La mini-lame devrait rarement être utile. En revanche, elle suffit à faire confisquer l'objet à l'aéroport.

Pourquoi ne pas la remplacer par un outil qui n'aurait pas cet inconvénient en conservant tout le reste ? Une lime à métaux, par exemple...

Ich habe dieses Messer seit Jahren immer am Schlüsselbund und schon unzählige male gebraucht. Denn das beste Werkzeug ist das das man dabei hat!
Die beiden Schraubenzieher passen öfter als man glaubt, auch für recht grosse Schrauben. Der Kugelschreiber liegt mit aufgeklappter Nagelfeile erstaunlich gut in der Hand. Die Schere schneidet unermüdlich alles was ihr in die Quere kommt und auch um die Klinge und Pinzette war ich schon oft froh.

Unglaublich wie viel Nutzen das Manager auf kleinstem Raum vereint. Einfach super praktisch!

My Manager is always and my pocket and ready to use for Everyday tasks, it might me as simple as cutting a piece of paper, or sometimes you need to open a bottle but your hand alone can't, other times you need a pen & you left it. So for Everyday tasks, the Manager has everything you could be in need of.

Perfect for EDC

Ideal para minhas necessidades. Uma ocasião qualquer do dia, preciso de uma chave de fenda seja do tipo estrela ou philips. Os outros recursos são de uso quase diários. Muito satisfeito.

Bought this when had Rambler confiscated at airport - for £1 more, 1mm extra thickness and 1gram extra weight you get a useful emergency pen. Came with toothpick+tweezers in box but only one fits in knife - I find toothpick great tweezers not sturdy enough to be really useful - bet both could be fitted in from either end if had slots at a jaunty angle? 

Now we all have torches on our phones no need to upgrade to Midnight Manager, but I might consider the @Work version with USB memory next time. 

Compared to my mini-champ (confiscated at a different airport!) which has many more tools this includes all the most useful ones and leaves out the rest so it is not too heavy. Wish this had the ruler though which would add no more weight and I find myself looking for. I would like to see a version of this without the blade if it was permissible to take through airport security as the bade is the item I use least.

Probably the best key ring tool there is

Selbst wenn ich sonst nichts dabei habe, z. B. auf dem Camping, meinen Schlüssel und den Manager habe ich immer dabei. Somit kann ich kleine Dinge im Alltag immer meistern. Auch als Ergänzung zu meinem Explorer oder Schwisstool X ein hervorragendes Messer. Hier ist besonders der kleine Kreuzschraubendreher zu erwähnen welcher permanent zum auswechseln von Batterien bei vielen Geräten und Spielsachen benötigt wird. Auch um unterwegs mal ein RC-Auto von den Kindern zerlegen und wieder zum laufen zu bringen ist für den Manager kein Problem.

I love all the features of this knife. I always carry one every day and for all reasons. The only disappointment was the missing tooth pick.

Excellant little utility knife

I've owned many multi-tools for decades and the main drawback is they can be so big you don't have them with you when you need them, so I scoured my memory of what tools I actually use on a daily basis, being minimalist, and came up with the Victorinox Rambler, which I carried for years and it met my needs until TSA confiscated because I forgot to remove it from my keychain, so on replacement I got the Manager as it removes the toothpick I never used and adds a pen which I've sometimes needed when I didn't expect to need a pen. The Manager is now on my keychain, always carried and I hope to remove it before my next trip to the airport! In sequence these are my real-world tool needs in descending use: scissors, knife, flat screwdriver, star screwdriver, bottle opener, pen. Never seem to need wire stripper (use my teeth).

Just the regular items in as small a package as possible

I love this knife....

The blade is razor sharp when you get it.
The philips head screwdriver is precise.
The scissors are sharp and very useful.
The ball point pen has bailed me out in many meetings where I managed to show up without my regular pen (flip the screwdriver out when you are writing to make the pen longer and the writing easier).

My only problem with the knife has been when I try and cut through something too big. I have bent the blade "backward" just a little bit where it will not close all the way when I try. When that happens, I just get another one from my supply and start over (I buy them 6 at a time so I always have a "spare" ready to go).

If you want an everyday, not too large, knife to carry....this is a great one. It is truly something to "write" home about (or write home with).

The manager is the most used keychain tool I have ever owned. The pen and the bottle opener is what made get this knife and retire my classic sd. Haven't looked back since.

A perfect keychain tool that covers all the basics

Where the Super Tinker is my preferred daily carry, I have to admit to myself that it makes quite a big dorky lump in my business casual slacks. Sometimes, I don't carry, and I embrace my dorkiness. Other times, I compromise and carry the Manager.

Probably like many of you, I carried a Classic for many years. I had a talent of NOT losing them, until the airlines started taking them from me when I got so used to carrying them, I forgot to leave them at home when traveling carry-on only. So after losing about my fourth Classic, I decided to look more deeply into the Victorinox line. I liked the Classic, but I missed the bottle opener of my Tinker and Super Tinker.

The Manager adds a second layer of tools to the Classic in the form of a multi-tool which contains a #1 Phillips, bottle opener, and wire stripper. VERY handy, this tool. It also drops the toothpick (which some people don't use anyway) and adds a ballpoint pen. How many times have you been caught without a pen? I can't even count the number of times. But it never happens when I'm carrying my Manager.
